2012
March 26: I started a few cells, using seeds from 2004.
April 16: I bought fresh seeds from T&T, and planted 6 cells.

2006
March 29: I planted 12 cells with a few seeds in each cell. Six cells used seeds from 2004 and 6 used seeds from 2005, which I had labelled mouldy.
April 1: Sprouts from the 2004 seeds. None then or later from the others so I discarded them.
15: I divided my 6 cells into 12. The roots on the seedlings were short.
May 28: I set out my 5 plants.
July 2: First flower.
August 1: Doing well. Producing multiple flowers now.
 
2005
April 2:  I planted 18 cells with a few seeds in each cell.
5:  8 sprouts.
19:  Thinned.
28:  I set out 9 plants.
June 2:  I set 4 along the west side of the house.
July 4:  1 flower is opening.
July 11:  They look great in the sun but they flop over in the rain.
27:  I deadhead 5 or so flowers each day.
October 4:  The flowers are wonderful, but the plants often fell over and died, or died or finished up early for other reasons.
 
2004
February 28:  I planted 18 seeds in 9 cells.
March 3:  3 sprouts.
9:  9 sprouts.
11:  I started another 6 cells.
April 18:  I moved the 8 survivors from the first 9 sprouts into styrofoam cups or 4-paks.   They were showing signs of water stress.   They should have been started later, 3 or 4 weeks later.
April 18:  I moved most of the others also.
May 21:  First flowers, 2 of them.
24:  I set 12 plants out.
27:  It's sunny today, and the flowers are open.
July 31:  They are putting on a fine display, with large interesting daisy blossoms.
 
2003
December 1:  I ordered seeds of the zulu variety from Stokes.
9:  The seeds arrived, one package, $1.95.
