2023 June 14: I bought a plant of the Pink Frosting variety from
Canadian Tire for $12.95, and planted it with some manure.
Hardiness Zone 4, so I'm hoping it survives. 24: First flower is opening.
2007 May 1: I found 2 small shoots. June 24: They have developed into medium size clusters.
2006 April 2: The snow has melted and revealed 2 small new green leaves. May 22: There are 2 small patches. August 1: Doing well. A few flowers linger.
2005 May 9: Growing on one side of its original location only. July 11: First flowers. 19: Many flowers.
The plants on the other side of the original location have grown, but have not flowered yet. October 4: A good show, but the plants on the other side never did flower.
2004 July 31: A few flowers.
2003 May 6: There is new growth today..
29: It is not doing as well as it used to.
The centre of the clump seems to have died,
and the new growth is small and coming from about 3 spots on the outside.
July 5: Growing well.
13: First flowers.
October 19: I did not do much this summer,
just grow in a ring around its old centre.
2002 May 21: Many small sprouts are showing now..
August 2: Flowering beautifully, with 2 colours of flowers.
September 7: No longer in flower.
2001 May 1: It is poking through.
June 18: Flourishing. Curiously, a few stalks were very pale originally, but have greened up now.
July 9: First flowers.
2000 April 24: New growth is evident today,
and has been for some time.
July 12: The plants is large, and the first 2 flowers are out today.
August 7: It flowered profusely and beautifully. Again there were flowers of 3 different colours. Some of those of one colour still remain. I have deadheaded the others.
~September 28: William mowed it down.
1999 May 24: Doing satisfactorily.
The clump of growth is small and a little pale,
but very thick with leaves.
June 30: Flourishing.
July 13: First flower.
August 3: Flourishing nicely.
There are flowers of 3 different colours.
31: Flourishing, but no flowers.
September 30: The same. A good show this summer.
1998 June 3: Coming along slowly.

1997 June 1: Growing fine.
August 7: Has been flowering nicely.
