Dianthus, or China/Annual/Rainbow Pinks P H N
Caryophyllaceae:  Dianthus chinensis

Raspberry Parfait
1999
March 17: Last year's plants are visible in the garden today. They do not show any signs of life.
April 19: I crumbled the old stems away, and found new shoots on all 6 plants from last year.
26: I popped the plants out of the ground so that Vic could rototill the area.
27: I returned them to the ground.
May 24: A few of the plants seem to be surviving, but on the whole they are doing poorly.
June 9: I discarded all the plants. Most were dead. One had some green leaves but I don't think it would survive either.
