1996
May 4: No new growth.
June 20: Removed.

1995
February 1: One plant doing well indoors, one apparently dead. I brought both in from the garden. I kept one going on a window ledge, and it's still doing fine. It dries out between waterings. The other I cut back and kept moist in dim light, and it died.
May 15: Planted it out.
26: Alive.
June 15: Still alive with dark green leaves, but no sign of new growth. Puzzling.
July 7: It has begun to grow, taller.
October: Left outside for the winter.

January 6: Seedlings appeared.
February 5: 2 seedlings flourishing, and 6 just alive.
17: Planted more seeds, 12 cells with 2 seeds per cell. There was some germination, but no survivors.

September 15: Have done well. One is 49 inches tall, the other, 57.
