May 4: There were large red moist roots still in the ground, like beets! Research says chard is just a leafy beet.
28: The root I ate half of was stringy.
 
1995
May 9: Planted today, 2 seeds per hole, holes 6 inches apart.
23: No sprouts.
June 15: Growing well.
October: It flourished all summer.
 
1994
June 20: Seedlings appear.
August 17: It has done well. One plant is in flower now.
September 15: Plants are large.
 
1993
June 24: Planted some Swiss chard, rhubarb variety. Planted 12 seeds.
August 18: Doing ok. It was obscured by weeds for quite a while. Almost all seeds sprouted, but they took a while (~12 days?).
