2003 March 21: I sowed seeds collected last year from the Hawaii Royal plants
on the surface of 9 cells,
and put them into the warming box in front of a window.
23: I can see 2 seeds sprouting
25: About 20 sprouts.
April 4: Divided giving 20 plants, still very small.
May 23: I set out about 15 plants.
May 27: They were very withered by the sun,
but recovered after watering and an overnight!
June 18: Slow-developing buds have finally resulted in a first flower.
July 29: The plants are still small, with a few flowers.
August 31: Collected seeds and cleared the plants away.
They did not put on much of a show.
2002 June 13: I bought 10 plants of Hawaii Royal from Revy and set them out.
September 7: They looked good during most of August, but they have largely finished now.
1996 June 20: I set out some plants from the nearby stand.
September 4: In flower beautifully for a while now.
