2020
April 21: I bought 2 packets of seeds from T&T, 1 orange, 1 yellow, and started them in 18 cells (9 of each).
23: Germination is visible. The seeds are detailed, long and narrow with one end white and one end black. They are on the surface of the soil, or in some cases I put a little soil on part ot them. Now the white rootlet is growing out from the centre of the seeds and has turned down into the soil.
25: 9/9 of the orange seeds have sprouted but only 6/9 of the yellow have germinated and only 4 of those have produced stalks and free leaves. I placed 4 more seeds among them.
27: The 6 yellow sprouts have now produced stalks and free leaves. I can see 4 of the new seeds and they have germinated.
May 4: A mouse ate the tops off all the stalks.
6: I seeded another 18 cells. I am keeping the old, topless, ones to see if they will produce a new stalk, like the snapdragons. I don't expect they will.
27: I set out my 17 seedlings.
August 29: Deadheaded. Many mature dead flowers. Many plants dried and finished; probably too dry for them during one period.
